There are several free or low-cost ways to consult with an immigration attorney in Rhode Island. Immigration attorneys can assist you with many citizenship & immigration issues, including petitions for family members abroad, and applications for citizenship, adjustment of status, employment authorization, asylum, DACA, TPS and other humanitarian options.

Citizenship & Immigration Services
Dorcas International provides low-cost legal services to immigrants, refugees, and their families. Telephonic consultations with attorneys and Department of Justice (DOJ) accredited representatives are available Monday through Friday. The Immigration Clinic at Roger Williams University School of Law
Students enrolled in the Immigration Clinic at RWU School of Law represent immigrants who are in need and seeking lawful permanent residence in the United States or defense against removal proceedings. Progreso Latino
A Department of Justice (DOJ) accredited representative is available at Progreso Latino on the last Thursday of every month at 5pm for walk in consultations. No appointment is needed—stop by Progreso Latino’s office.

Rhode Island Center for Justice
The Rhode Island Center for Justice does not deal with immigration & citizenship issues, but they may be able to assist you with legal problems related to wage theft, housing, utilities, education, and criminal justice.
Meet with an attorney at one of CFJ’s two community clinics. The attorney will perform an intake interview to determine whether or not CFJ can offer representation.

Sojourner House
*ONLY victims of domestic/sexual violence
Sojourner House is the only domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking victim service agency in Rhode Island to be recognized by the Department of Justice to represent clients in their immigration cases. This includes “U” Visas, "T" Visas, VAWA self-petitions and removal of conditions on legal permanent residency based on abuse. Diocese of Providence
Office of Immigrants and Refugees
The diocese staff is also accredited to represent individuals and families before the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Service. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence’s Office of Community Services and Advocacy is a member agency of the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc.
